Dazzling in the City: New York, New York

34

Day 1 of my New York vacay has been very interesting to say the least. It was full of so many cliche's that I only thought existed on TV. First I was excited on embarking on my journey to take the subway station to Soho. But of course something strange happened (strange for me but not for New York). The train that I needed to take that would bring me straight to Soho kept getting delayed and discontinued. Why you might ask? Well because someone committed suicide by jumping in front the train. When I heard I was shocked in disbelief, while the New Yorkers were pissed. I couldn't figure out why they didn't have the same reaction I had. I understood better when I was shopping in Soho and the sales person there said that happens all the time in New York. Her exact reaction was "Again?" and shook her head. Makes since I guess, since New York is such a heavily populated city that garners a lot of stress. Needless to say, 1st subway station ride was interesting and long. Soho was beautiful, however. Its so hip and cool and perfect for shopping.

Now to the fun stuff...
I swear I saw America Ferrera on the subway train. She looked like a normal person and no one bothered her but I totally think it was her. I also saw the guy from New York Undercover, the black cop. He was riding his bike on Lafayette St. I believe.
Any who, I wore flats because of course there would be a lot of walking. My dogs were still barking by the time I was finished Day 1 of my New York exploration. I usually don't wear flats because I'm short and I just don't feel sexy in them. I only own two pairs, both of which I bought with me and they are the Rachel Roy oxfords and white converse. I did not bring any flat sandals, but I bought plenty of heels. Problem is, I don't even want to wear heels when I decide to go out, which is something I never thought I would say. I hate to see flats in the club but I don't know how I would survive wearing heels to and from the place I decide to go and, not to mention, all the time spent in between standing in them. I've got to figure this out. Carrie Bradshaw was always wearing heels on the show (y'all know which one I'm talking about) and made it look easy and normal. I learned, however, that no one was wearing heels today. NO ONE. I spotted not-a-one. I tried looking for some cute flats. I didn't find any.

New York wore me out today, but it was fun. Peep what I wore! I actually wore the oxfords but preferred to take pictures in heels

Brooklyn, my home for another 10 more days : )

I'm so happy!!!! Thank you God for placing me here!

New York, I love you!!!
